Nothing Feels Better: Adopting a Pet

I suppose the word NOTHING might be a bit strong, but at this moment nothing feels better then our recent adoption. We are not a house full of kids, even after being married over ten years we still aren’t sure if babies/children are in the cards for us. However four legged, big eared and bright eyed with fur is what we have been blessed with and at this moment in our lives we like it this way. There was a day, Mothers day of 2009 that changed all of that and our home became quiet. Our 6 year old “son” Jeffery the yorkie died suddenly and way before his time. The silence after his death was hard but going through a deployment and then having my husband get injured from an IED while deployed made not having a companion even harder. Long worry filled nights without the constant love of our J-dog was hard. Fast forward a year and after improvements with my husbands injuries we have come to the decision that we are ready for another “little Man” around the house.

We are still on the hunt for a Hunting Dog but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to provide a home to this sweet little boy. He is a 3 year old yorkie full of love and spunk that needed a good home right away. His previous owners loved him dearly but with the recent birth of their first daughter they feared he might get lost in the shuffle and become a misbehaved small dog. So, here we are, Yorkshire Terrier happy home again. The next kid will be a Hunting dog.

Do you have a dog hunting breed or otherwise?
